2015 Alabama Coastal Birdfest

Welcome to the 12th annual Alabama Coastal BirdFest Now a Birding & Nature Festival!
In addition to your favorite birding trips, we have expanded! We are now a "birding and nature festival," with 15 new trips to new locations and opportunities to see birds, alligators, wildflowers, dolphins, and other wildlife and habitats. Also, we have three new workshops at 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center on hummingbirds, nature photography, and getting started in birding! In addition, we have partnered with the Environmental Education Association of Alabama to offer a new workshop for teachers in grades K-12 to show how easy it is to incorporate environmental education into the current curriculum.

- There is no mail-in registration this year. We ask that you pay by credit card, which gives you immediate confirmation. If you have any problem, call 251-625-0814 for assistance.
- To register, you must create a new account/password. You will use this account in coming years.
- Bus trips: All buses leave from 5 Rivers Delta Center (30945 Five Rivers Blvd. in Spanish Fort). There is ample, free parking.
- Boat cruises and canoe/kayak paddles leave from a variety of locations. Click on the blue ? with each trip and read descriptions carefully. Bartram Landing is at 5 Rivers. Maps to the other locations are on our website. Please plan to be at the designated dock at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled trip departure time.
- Meet-the-bus trips are designated by the letter "A" (201A etc). For these trips, you meet the bus at the designated spot indicated in each trip description (click on the blue ? with each trip for description). Please allow at least 15 minutes on either side of the approximate meet time. On these trips you must also bring your own lunch. Maps are available for download on our website and at 5 Rivers after Monday, Sept. 28.
- Release forms: If you choose the Dauphin Island Sea Lab cruise or the Blakeley Island Mud Ponds trip (Alabama Port Authority), you need to sign a release form. The forms are available for download from the home page of our website: www.AlabamaCoastalBirdFest.com. Please download the applicable form, sign it, and bring it with you the day of the trip.You must have the DISL release notarized before you arrive.
